Hudl is a strong team and school platform. NextPlay serves a different starting point: a parent or athlete who already has phone clips or a downloadable game file and wants a highlight without a school account or manual tagging workflow.
What NextPlay does
NextPlay's AI finds plays in uploaded footage, cuts downtime and gives you a Highlight, Recruiting Highlight, Hype version, Coach Film or Game Tape to review. Finished reels can be downloaded as MP4s or shared by link.
One subscription covers supported sports. Parents can use short phone clips; coaches can upload complete game film for play-by-play review.
How Hudl footage gets into NextPlay
NextPlay does not read an authenticated Hudl player link directly. Download the video file from Hudl, or ask the coach or team administrator for a copy, then upload that file to NextPlay.
When you need clips back in Hudl, download NextPlay's clip package and use Hudl's own uploader. Your team administrator may need to enable uploading.
Where Hudl remains stronger
Hudl remains the deeper choice for school-wide team analytics, opponent scouting, coach workflows and its own camera hardware. NextPlay focuses on making the video from footage you already have.
