Account Information: When you create an account, you provide your name, email address, and profile information through our authentication system.
Athlete Profiles: Information you provide about athletes including name, sport, position, school, graduation year, GPA, and social media handles.
Video Content: Game footage you upload is securely transcoded and stored. Videos are analyzed by AI for highlight detection but are never shared publicly without your consent.
Usage Data: Anonymous usage data — page views, feature usage, and processing metrics — is recorded to help us improve the service.
Payment Information: Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We never store credit card numbers on our servers.
Camera & Microphone (Mobile App): With your permission, the NextPlay mobile app uses your device's camera and microphone to record game footage directly in the app. We only access them while you are actively recording.
Photo Library (Mobile App): With your permission, the app accesses your photo library so you can choose game videos to upload, and saves finished highlight reels back to your library when you ask.
Push Notifications (Mobile App): If you enable notifications, we store a device push token so we can send activity updates — for example, when a reel finishes processing. You can turn this off anytime in your device settings.
Your video content is processed by AI models to detect highlights, read scoreboards, and transcribe commentary — solely to create your own highlights and analysis. Neither NextPlay nor our service providers use your videos, frames, audio, or derived data to train or fine-tune AI models. We improve our detection through engineering — analyzing processing outcomes and error reports and refining our pipeline — not by training models on your content. Our service providers are contractually limited to processing your content on our behalf; they retain it only transiently as needed to fulfill our requests and for security purposes, under their own published data policies.
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with trusted service providers that help us operate NextPlay — for example, video hosting, payment processing, AI analysis, and application infrastructure. These providers are contractually bound to keep your data secure and use it only to deliver their services to us.
Your data is protected at every layer. All connections to NextPlay are encrypted in transit. Uploaded video carries a tamper-resistant fingerprint so edited or substituted footage can be detected. Webhook integrations with our payment and video partners are signed and verified before we trust them. Access to your data is restricted by per-user rules in our database, so other accounts can't read or modify your videos, athletes, or reels. Payment information never touches our servers — Stripe handles it directly.
While your account is active: your uploaded videos, photos, and generated highlight reels are stored securely for as long as you keep them. That's what keeps your library, your highlights, and your share links working — we never auto-delete your content out from under you.
When you delete a video: it moves to Trash, where it can be restored for 30 days. After that (or immediately, if you choose "Delete permanently"), the video, its hosted copies, and its derived data — clips, detected plays, transcripts, and analysis — are permanently deleted.
When you delete your account: your profile, athlete profiles, videos, highlight reels, and AI-generated content are permanently deleted, including hosted media. We retain only limited records: billing and transaction records where required for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes; service-usage records (identifiers and usage counts — never video content); and a minimal deletion audit record (file metadata such as filename and game date) kept for recovery support and fraud prevention.
You can access, update, or delete your account and all associated data at any time through your account settings. See the retention section above for exactly what deletion removes and the limited records we keep.
NextPlay is intended for athletes aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. We strongly recommend that a parent or guardian set up and manage the account for any athlete under 18 — review what gets shared publicly, approve coach outreach, and decide what footage is kept. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us at the email below and we will remove it.
