How to Make a Football Recruiting Highlight Video

A football recruiting highlight should help the viewer understand the athlete's role in each play. Clear footage and relevant examples matter more than elaborate effects. Use this workflow to prepare a video you can send yourself.
1. Choose footage that shows the assignment
Keep the formation, snap and finish when they explain the play. For a quarterback, show the read and throw; for a receiver, the release and route; for a lineman, the initial contact and the rest of the block.
Choose plays where the athlete is visible. A dramatic camera angle is less useful if the viewer cannot see the movement or outcome.
2. Separate athlete clips from team film
Upload local clips filmed around your athlete using My athlete. If the source is a full team recording, choose Coach Film, review it play by play and remove the other plays.
NextPlay does not select a player automatically from a jersey number. Reviewing the team cut is how you make sure the finished video shows the right person.
3. Build and review the Recruiting Highlight
Use the landscape, muted Recruiting Highlight format. Open the reel and check the start and end of each play. Put your clearest position-relevant examples early, and follow the length or footage requirements provided by the recipient.
Keep full sequences available separately. A highlight introduces the athlete; it does not replace complete film when a coach requests it.
4. Send an accurate introduction
Copy the share link or download the MP4. In your own message, include the athlete's name, graduation year, position and team, and only include statistics or measurements you have verified.
