How to Make a Softball Highlight Reel

A softball highlight can show much more than a hit. The pitch before contact, the fielding approach and the throw after a pickup all help the viewer understand the play. Start with footage that keeps those details visible.
1. Film the complete action
For batting clips, record the setup, swing and visible result. If you want to show a bunt or slap, keep the contact and initial movement in view. For fielding, include the approach, pickup and throw.
For pitching or catching footage, choose an angle that shows the athlete without an obstruction hiding the release or exchange. Record from a permitted spectator area; do not enter the playing area to get a shot.
2. Upload softball footage
Choose softball and the correct athlete for your local video files. Use My athlete for short clips recorded around that player. Keep the original files so you can return to a sequence later.
For a full team recording, use Coach Film and review its plays. Remove the plays that are not your athlete; the product does not automatically select one player throughout the recording.
3. Review the highlight for clarity
Watch the beginning and end of each clip. A catch without the approach or a throw cut off before its outcome may not tell the story you intended. Remove obstructed footage rather than relying on effects to make it readable.
Choose examples relevant to what you want to show. Use a landscape Recruiting Highlight if appropriate, and follow any specific instructions supplied by the recipient.
4. Share the finished reel
Copy the share link or download the MP4 after checking the finished video. Open the link in a signed-out browser to confirm it is viewable.
Add any statistics in your own introduction only if they are verified. Save complete sequences separately in case a coach asks for more footage.
