Softball highlights for parents

Parents: make a softball highlight from phone clips

Your child played. You filmed it. Upload softball phone clips or a full game with the NextPlay iPhone app, Android app or website. AI finds likely action and cuts downtime; you review it and choose what belongs in a Highlight. Recruiting Highlight, Coach Film and Game Tape are available when you need them.

Post it to TikTok, Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts.

Recruiting Highlight

For: College coaches and recruiting services

Send it to a coach, or attach it to a recruiting profile.

Softball highlight reel FAQ

Can a parent make a softball highlight without editing every clip?

Yes. Upload the softball clips already in your camera roll. NextPlay finds likely plays and cuts the downtime, so you do not have to scrub every clip or build the edit by hand. Review the detected moments, choose what belongs in one Highlight, then download or share it yourself.

How do I make a softball highlight for one athlete?

Upload clips filmed around your athlete using My athlete. For wide team footage, use Coach Film and remove the other plays after reviewing the cut. NextPlay does not automatically identify one athlete throughout team film.

How can I share my softball highlight?

Watch the finished reel, then copy its share link or download the MP4. Use a landscape Recruiting Highlight when that format fits the recipient. You choose the recipients and send the video yourself.

Can I upload a full softball game?

Yes, a full softball game is analysed play by play as a Game Tape or Coach Film, with every detected play in order and nothing left out. A full game takes over an hour to analyse; the cut is complete, never trimmed to a runtime. Fixed wide-angle sideline cameras are supported: NextPlay finds the region of the field where the game is being played and cuts plays from it at full resolution.

Does it work with Hudl or Veo?

For softball, download the video file from Hudl (open the video, three-dot menu, Download Video — or ask the coach/team admin), then upload it; when you want clips back in Hudl, download NextPlay's clip package (one MP4 per clip) and upload it with Hudl's own uploader. You can import recordings from a public Veo club library link. Your coach/team admin may need to enable Hudl uploading; delete the ZIP and extracted MP4s from your computer after Hudl finishes uploading.

How much does it cost?

Plans for softball highlights start from $14.99/month (or $99/year) for Athlete; Family is $24.99/month (or $179/year), Team $149/month and Team Pro $249/month. Creating an account is free, but adding film needs a plan; there is no watermark, and you can cancel anytime. There are iPhone and Android apps too: on iPhone you can subscribe through the App Store, and Android plans are bought on the website.

Can I make a softball recruiting video?

Yes, the Recruiting Highlight is a landscape, muted MP4 and share link that you send to coaches yourself. NextPlay does not send messages to coaches.

Does NextPlay find my athlete or read jersey numbers?

No. NextPlay cuts every play for the whole field and does not track a player or read jersey numbers. Mark athlete lets you tap your athlete on any play — circle, arrow or spotlight — and the mark is burned into the downloaded video. Film that follows one player (phone footage, a Trace or Veo player view) keeps them in more of the clips. Team plans can use roster numbers to suggest which athlete each play belongs to.

What should I film for a softball pitching highlight?

Keep the pitcher’s full delivery and the ball reaching the catcher in frame. Upload several pitching clips and review which sequences to keep.

Can I include slapping, catching and fielding plays?

Yes, upload clips showing contact and the run for a slap, the receive and throw for a catcher, or the pickup and throw for a fielder. Keep the ball and your athlete visible through the sequence.

Can I pay once for my softball season instead of subscribing?

Yes. The Athlete Season Pass is $40.99 on the web for 3 months of access with one payment. It does not auto-renew. Another pass adds three months when you need it.

Your child played. You filmed it. Skip the editing.

Plans start at $14.99/month, or choose a $40.99 Athlete Season Pass for three months with one payment and no auto-renew. Unlimited uploads, highlight reels and full-game Game Tape are included; monthly AI-analysis fair-use limits apply.
